Eugene Andrew Cernan (b. March 14, 1934, Chicago, Illinois-d. January 16, 2017, Houston, Texas), American astronaut, naval aviator, electrical engineer, aeronautical engineer and fighter pilot, left his mark on the history of exploration by flying three times into space, twice to the moon. As part of the Apollo 17 mission, he was the 11th person to walk on the Moon and, as the last man to re-enter the Lunar Module, he was, as of 2017 the last man to have walked on its surface....
